WHAT WAS MEANT TO HAPPEN?
Need accurate geo-tech report about ground before start building.
WHAT DID HAPPEN?
Few dwelling after build ground start shrinking.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
Few years ago the Land was under water later on used to dump rubbish (land fill). Before start construction work they dug-out soil by 2 meter deep and filled with hard fill and compact well. But still ground at bottom was filled with rubbish so start shrunk. So new dwelling which was affected had demolished and comes up with new engineering plan.
WHAT DID WE DO TO FIX IT, OR HOW DID WE FIX IT?
According to new engineering design ground has to be dug-out 2 meter deep and remove all hard fill, and in ground 265 piles has to be driven, which was 500 diameter timber piles in different length like 4.2m, 3.6m, 3m and 2.4m and 12 m length UC steel piles.
The pile driving work was given to sub-contractor CLL. Which they used 1.5 ton hammer for timber post to buried in ground. Also used vibrator for steel UC piles. The pilling work is still in process and the next ground will be covered to 1 meter hard fill and compacted with 95% geo-tech compaction requirement. After that next step will be start footing filled with hard fill compacted hard fill to 95% and poured slab on top.
For timer piles first have to drill the holes and placed piles, this piles type are SED (Small End Diameter) which means small end go in ground first. Here is some photograph related to this job.
